Summary

Under broad supervision, performs a wide range of diverse and analytical tasks related to classification of oilfield related products as well as assessment of business risks in relation to import and export transactions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates directly with internal customer service representatives ,engineers, procurement specialists and technology experts to obtain information about products in order to assign international trade classification codes to company’s products.
  • Performs research on products using tools on the Internet, technical drawings, white papers and technical specification documents.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs extensive research on oilfield related products
  • Assesses business risks for international import and export transactions
  • Reads and interprets technical drawings, specification documents and technical papers
  • Reads and interprets international trade regulations for multiple countries associated with oil field products
  • Evaluates and assigns international trade classification codes to products in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support resolution of issues arising from customs classifications
  • Remain current on all relevant customs regulations as they pertain to oil and gas equipment
  • Remain current on all Halliburton policies, business practices and work procedures related to the import and export processes and customs classifications.
  • Runs daily demand reports for product classification
  • Prepares and files status reports for product classifications
  • Works and assists management on additional classification and trade compliance audits and projects works
  • Complete training in import and export compliance procedures and requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance, government regulations, customs, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement or logistics required.
  • Extensive experience with exports is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with job related experience with technical drawings, technical writing and the analysis of oilfield related  products will be considered.
  • Candidates with experience in the procurement of oilfield related products will also be considered.
  • Having knowledge about ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge and ability to interpret trade compliance regulations related to exports, imports , customs or logistics would be a definite advantage.
  • Must have good communication skills and be a team player.
