Computational Fluid Dynamics.

 

This engineer must be proficient in applying scientific theories and engineering methods, as well as use physical and computational analysis in product development. Immediate interests will be in the areas of transient CFD, multiphase fluid mechanics, particulate transport, erosion characterization and modeling, non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, and rheology of polymeric systems.

 

Job Function/Responsibilities:

•Be the subject matter expert in the area of computational fluid dynamics and its application to flow characterization and erosion prediction

•Perform high-level CFD analysis to support technology development and product validation of Halliburton positive displacement pumping equipment and blending systems

•Employ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and related simulation capabilities in areas of transient multiphase non-Newtonian flow modeling, particular transport, erosion prediction, etc. to the global engineering organization

•Develop and implement new computational and experimental procedures for mitigating equipment performance risks through innovative mechanical design solutions

•Develop new concepts towards the above goals and validate those with laboratory scale prototype testing. Understanding of analytical and experimental skills in fluid dynamics

•Apply probabilistic design methods and optimization techniques to design analysis

 

Desired Requirements:

•Demonstrated strong background in computational fluid dynamics

•Proficient in using ANSYS software (or equivalent) for CFD analysis with expert knowledge for non-Newtonian models, erosion models, and particulate transport

•Well-versed in numerical algorithm development using FORTRAN/C/C++/C#/Matlab/Python.

•Hands-on experience in lab testing environment and proficiency in DAQ/sensor/instrumentation techniques.

•Working knowledge of SolidWork or similar CAD software

 

Experience:

•Mid-Career, 5-15 years engineering experience

•Minimum 3-5 years direct working experience in development and validation of analysis methods non-Newtonian fluid flow

•Extensive experience with erosion modeling and particulate transport analysis methods

•Experience with analysis and design of mixers and positive displacement pumps a plus
