Summary/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Responsible for design of manufacturing processes, layouts of manufacturing plants, tools, jigs, and assembly lines.
  • Develops new ways to manufacture components, parts, or sub-assemblies for lower cost or faster delivery of products.
  • Assignments are generally well defined with clear and specified objectives.
  • With additional experience within one area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, and/or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
  • Assignments usually include one or more of the following: equipment design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering and minimum of 2 years’ experience, with typical experience ranging from 3-7 years.


Preferred Certifications and Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge in materials science including; welding, brazing, hard-facing and  heat treat and / or Solid experience in CNC machining which includes; machining philosophy design, Solidworks 3D Modeling, NX CAD/CAM software, tool selection, parameter optimization, mechanical design of fixtures, and knowledge of CNC machines.


Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • CNC machining experience
  • Welding & Joining experience
  • Extensive experience solving complex manufacturing problems
  • Experience presenting process improvements and enhancements to multiple levels of leadership


Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for a higher level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
