The Environmental Specialist will provide manufacturing facility support regarding environmental permitting, compliance assurance, and environmental management systems at Halliburton’s Alvarado manufacturing center.

  • Perform regulatory applicability analysis and manage environmental compliance requirements.
  • Perform environmental risk identification and develop risk management controls with site leadership. 
  • Develop and manage environmental management systems including ISO 14001.
  • Provide technical and project management oversight for waste management, pollution prevention and waste minimization, permitting assistance, hazardous materials compliance, spill response planning, air and water


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Manage environmental compliance and implement environmental management systems (ISO 14001) at Alvarado MFG center.
  • Prepare environmental permit applications and state and EPA regulatory submittals (e.g., Air PBRs, TRI, Tier 2, DMRs, Multi-Sector General SW Permit, and hazardous waste reports).
  • Supervise and evaluate environmental consultants.
  • Keep abreast of newly promulgated state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Assist in sustainability objectives related to energy conservation and waste reduction
  • Assist with the communication and coordination of company activities, including environmental inspections with Federal, State, and Local Agencies.
  • Manage environmental documentation in accordance with record retention requirements.
  • Participate in investigations of environmental incidents and root cause analysis of environmental issues.
  • Recommend improvements in processes, management systems, procedures, and operation equipment to comply with environmental requirements.
  • Support the implementation of environmental standards by providing technical assistance on environmental issues.
  • Coach HSE professionals and leadership regarding environmental awareness, risk identification, and strategy implementation



  • Requires undergraduate study in HSE related field, Science, or Engineering or similar field
  • 6+  years’ work experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environmental preferred
  • Professional registration or certification
  • Advanced degree preferred.
