  • Oversees the development of new technologies and products which contributes to long term technology and business vision
  • Leads projects by developing new experimental designs and risk mitigation strategies
  • Provides Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers
  • Provides technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and effectively communicates with all levels of the organization
  • Represents Halliburton in professional societies in area of specialization
  • Analyze complex chemical problems and be able to use chemistry and career experience to investigate problems multiple layers deep
  • Distill complex problems into manageable solutions
  • Ability to synthesize information from macroscopic property tests to molecular level analytical information
  • Derives meaningful conclusions about complex chemical systems, with particular focus on surfactant/fluid interaction
  • The ideal candidate should have a proven record of introducing industrial products

 

Required Competencies:

  • Experience in the chemistry and testing of surfactants
  • Working knowledge of foamed and emulsified fluid systems
  • Knowledge of structure/property relationships for surfactant and modification of interfacial tension
  • Understanding of pressure and temperature effects on multiphase fluid systems
  • Ability to interface with external partners and internal customers to develop and vet new technologies

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Suitable candidates include PhD Chemists or Chemical Engineers with 1-5 years of experience
  • Minimum educational requirements are a Doctoral degree and 1-5 years’ experience, or Master’s degree and five or more years’ experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Preference given to individuals with oil and gas industrial experience
  • Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for a higher level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs
  • Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available including R&D Principal Chemist.
