Under broad direction from the Sr. Technology Manager, leads and supervises a team of flow assurance chemists and chemical engineers (6+ members with room for growth):

  • Build a team of professionals who are experts in flow improvement and are actively progressing the Company’s vision to grow in the deep water market
  • Proactively manage the technical and leadership succession plan for the team
  • Identify talent gaps within the team based on business strategy or project needs and develop a plan to fill those gaps
  • Create development plans and monitor individuals’ career growth over time, ensuring that their career goals are aligned with the organization’s needs
  • Collaborate with product management to help propose projects, define project scope, and clarify deliverables
  • Execute stage gate new product development projects with product management to mitigate risks and shorten product release timelines
  • Manage cross-functional projects and use tracking tools to complete projects within agreed upon timelines and budgets
  • Promote a culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence in the flow assurance laboratory and show leadership by example
  • Manage all flow assurance laboratory equipment, including capital asset report, maintenance contracts, calibration reports, and capital requests
  • Budgetary responsibilities include monthly forecast reports, variance reporting as needed, and completing yearly budget planning
  • Additionally responsible for interviewing, hiring, assignment of new team members and conducting various aspects of performance management such as goal setting, performance appraisals or counseling


Education & Experience

  • Skills typically acquired through Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline; PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the production chemical market
  • Experience in developing and launching new specialty chemical products preferred
  • Experience with new product development stage gate processes a plus
  • Prefer at least 2 years’ experience as a direct supervisor of personnel, however, may consider candidates with demonstrated readiness through other leadership experience/advanced academics
  • PMP or other project management certification beneficial but not required
