This position is responsible for the development and implementation of inventory strategies and innovative solutions which support business growth, customer satisfaction, cost management, and delivery performance for field operations.  The Inventory Optimization Manager will support all business units and geographies and have direct interaction with a diverse team of stakeholders to include: operations, business units, maintenance, technology, and field supply chain. This position has budgetary accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center’s viability or its quality of service via personal contributions.


A successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of supply chain and business processes including requirements planning, order management, stocking strategies, distribution; and effectively communicate and influence at various levels within a complex and matrix organization.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business units and geographies to optimize inventory levels through improved stocking strategies and distribution channels
  • Develop and maintain demand-driven inventory tools to assist with inventory optimization initiatives as it relates to sourcing, transportation and placement of field inventory
  • Develop and maintain inventory models and predictive analytics tools to set quarterly/annual inventory  targets
  • Identify and size necessary inventory optimization opportunities and convert opportunities into action plans
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Passionately drive process excellence visibility and awareness across business units and geographies
  • Support asset management group with special projects and initiatives as it relates to inventory management
  • Support commercialization groups with brand rationalization and new product rollout strategies
  • Perform other special assignments and duties as may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in inventory management and distribution processes including requirements planning, order management, stocking strategies, and distribution 
  • Working knowledge in SAP ERP system, Business Warehouse, supply chain software applications, and Microsoft Office applications   
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and identify creative solutions to complex problems
  • Proven success in influencing, persuasion and gaining cross functional support
  • Ability to develop actionable results, align support, and implement successfully
  • High level of verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to hire and develop top talent and build succession plan
  • Flexibility to travel globally up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA/MS  
  • Oil and Gas service industry experience
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS/ISM), CPA or other professional designation
